Mets' David Wright to continue rehab stint in Triple-A

New York Mets third baseman David Wright (shoulder) will continue his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas.

What It Means:

Wright is 6-for-32 (.188) with a double through 10 rehab games with High-A St. Lucie, with all of the hits coming in the past five games. It remains to be seen how his body will react to the increased workload but Wright could potentially make an unexpected comeback this season. The 35-year-old veteran hasn't appeared in a major league game since May 27, 2016 due to a variety of injuries.

Wright hit .226/.350/.438 with 7 home runs and 14 RBI across 164 plate appearances (37 games) in 2016. He is a seven-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger award winner.
