Didi Gregorius placed on Yankees' disabled list with heel contusion

New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius is on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to August 20, with a left heel contusion.

What It Means:

Gregorius suffered the injury in a collision at first base on Sunday and it's not clear how much time he's expected to miss. Neil Walker and Ronald Torreyes figure to see more starts while Gregorius is on the shelf. The Yankees called up Luke Voit from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding roster move.

Gregorius is averaging 11.5 FanDuel points per game, while slashing .270/.333/.482 with 22 home runs, 74 RBI, 76 runs scored, and 10 steals across 508 plate appearances.
