Greg Holland signs with Nationals on a one-year deal
The Washington Nationals signed relief pitcher Greg Holland to a one-year contract on Tuesday.
Holland was a bust with the St. Louis Cardinals this season. He posted a 7.92 ERA in 32 appearances before being released by the Cardinals. He was a shutdown closer for the Colorado Rockies last season but is expected to work in lower-pressure situations for the Nats for the time being.
Holland had a 6.01 xFIP and 5.73 SIERA while striking out 22 and walking 22 in 25 innings pitched this season.
