Chris Sale lands on Red Sox DL with shoulder inflammation
The Boston Red Sox placed pitcher Chris Sale on the 10-day disabled list with left shoulder inflammation.
The injury is seemingly coming out of nowhere as Sale showed no signs of an injury his last time out as he struck out 10 over 6 scoreless innings on Friday. No word on the extent of the injury but he will miss at least one start. Brandon Workman was called up in a corresponding move.
Sale has been brilliant this season, posting a 2.04 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and 11-4 record while striking out 207 batters in 141 innings pitched.
