Yankees' Tyler Austin heading to Minnesota as part of Lance Lynn trade
The Minnesota Twins have acquired outfielder Tyler Austin, along with minor league pitcher Luis Rijo from the New York Yankees in exchange for pitcher Lance Lynn.
The 26-year-old Austin is a solid get for the Twins as Lynn was headed to free agency following the season. The outfielder has been in the minors since June but has appeared in 34 games for the Yankees this season. Austin is batting .247 in 106 plate appearances with Triple-A this year.
Austin has a career batting average of .230 with 15 homers in 268 plate appearances over three seasons.
