Former Brave Tommy Hanson passes away at 29

Former MLB pitcher Tommy Hanson passed away Monday after suffering catastrophic organ failure.

What It Means:

Hanson was just 29. Once an elite prospect, Hanson opened his Braves career 32-22 with a 3.28 ERA in three seasons before injuring his shoulder in 2011. He won 13 more games for Atlanta in 2012 despite diminished stuff, but he made just 15 more big-league appearances afterwards, those coming with the Angels in 2013. He had since pitched in the minors for the White Sox in 2014 and Giants in 2015.
