Shohei Ohtani playing designated hitter for Angels on Friday

Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani is batting fifth in Friday's series opener against the Houston Astros.

What It Means:

Ohtani resumed throwing on Thursday and could potentially be back on the hill for the Angels by September. He will handle DH duties and work out of the five-hole versus Astros left-hander Dallas Keuchel on Friday.

Ohtani averaged 9.5 FanDuel points per game as a batter before the break.
