Texas Rangers right fielder Nomar Mazara has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to July 17, with a sprained right thumb.
It doesn't sound like the sort of injury that will keep Mazara out long. The Rangers recalled Willie Calhoun from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding roster move.
Mazara averaged 10.3 FanDuel points in 91 games during the first half, while slashing .272/.332/.450 with 15 home runs and 58 RBI across 388 plate appearances.
