Giants' Evan Longoria to begin rehab assignment Friday
San Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria (hand) will begin a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday.
Longoria hasn't played in a game since breaking his hand on June 14. Assuming all goes well, the 32-year-old veteran could be back by the beginning of next week. Pablo Sandoval has been filling in at the hot corner for the Giants.
Longoria averaged 8.8 FanDuel points in 67 games before landing on the disabled list, while slashing .247/.276/.435 with 10 home runs and 34 RBI across 270 plate appearances.
