Orioles send Manny Machado to Dodgers for five-player package
The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired infielder Manny Machado from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for outfield prospect Yusniel Diaz, infield prospect Rylan Bannon, a pair of right-hand prospects in Dean Kremer and Zach Pop, and infielder Breyvic Valera.
There was a hold up due to health-related concerns with one of the players involved in the trade, but the two sides managed to get things done. According to MLB Pipeline, Diaz was the Dodgers' 4th overall prospect. Bannon and Pop were with High-A Rancho Cucamonga while Kremer was promoted to Double-A Tulsa earlier this month. Valera played 20 games for the Dodgers this season while bouncing back and forth from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Machado averaged 12.4 FanDuel points in 96 games during the first half while slashing .315/.387/.575 with 24 home runs, 65 RBI, 8 steals, and 48 runs scored across 413 plate appearances.
