Wilson Ramos (hamstring) officially placed on Rays' disabled list

Tampa Bay Rays catcher Wilson Ramos has officially been placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to July 15, with a left hamstring strain.

What It Means:

This was an expected move after Ramos suffered the injury this past Saturday. Rays manager Kevin Cash said the backstop is "going to miss some time," which doesn't bode well for his trade value with the deadline less than two weeks away. Jesus Sucre will step in as the primary backstop for Tampa Bay.

Ramos averaged 10.1 FanDuel points over 78 games in the first half while slashing .297/.346/.488 with 14 home runs and 53 RBI across 315 plate appearances.
