Matt Duffy scratched from Rays' lineup on Sunday due to right ankle injury
Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Matt Duffy has been scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Minnesota Twins due to a right ankle injury.
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Duffy wanted to play and that he could pinch-hit, but the club is opting to play it safe. Joey Wendle will draw another start at second base and bat fifth while Daniel Robertson plays third and moves up to the two-hole versus Twins right-hander Fernando Romero.
Duffy is averaging 8.8 FanDuel points per game this season while slashing .316/.370/.413 with 4 home runs, 6 steals, 27 RBI, and 32 runs scored across 338 plate appearances.
