Red Sox's Rafael Devers avoids structural damage in shoulder
Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers avoided structural damage in his left shoulder, an MRI taken on Thursday revealed.
Devers was placed on the 10-day disabled list Thursday due to shoulder discomfort that has lingered since a mid-June road trip against the Seattle Mariners. The 21-year-old said he expects to be back for the second game after the All-Star break. Eduardo Nunez drew the start at third base for Boston on Thursday versus the Toronto Blue Jays.
Devers is averaging 9.6 FanDuel points through 89 games this season while slashing .241/.292/.424 with 14 home runs, 48 RBI, and 5 steals across 367 plate appearances.
