Vince Velasquez (forearm) expected to return to Phillies' rotation Wednesday

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Vince Velasquez (arm) will "almost certainly" make his return on Wednesday against the New York Mets, manager Gabe Kapler said Monday.

What It Means:

Velasquez was placed on the disabled list with a right forearm contusion after being lifted from his June 30 start against the Washington Nationals when a comebacker plunked him in the arm.

Velasquez averaged 30.0 FanDuel points in 17 starts while recording a 4.69 ERA with 107 strikeouts and 34 walks across 88 1/3 innings before landing on the disabled list.
