Jimmy Nelson (shoulder) not expected to pitch for Brewers before September
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson (shoulder) is unlikely to be ready to pitch for the team before September, general manager David Stearns said Sunday.
Nelson hasn't thrown off a mound since undergoing shoulder surgery last September but Stearns believes the 29-year-old right-hander will pitch for the Brewers at some point this season.
Nelson went 12-6 for Milwaukee in 2017 while spinning a 3.49 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 199 strikeouts and 48 walks across 175 1/3 innings.
