Michael Wacha (oblique) out until after All-Star break for St. Louis
St. Louis Cardinals general manager Michael Girsch said Monday that pitcher Michael Wacha (oblique) wouldn't return before the All-Star break.
Wacha suffered a mild strain of his oblique in his last start on Wednesday and was placed on the 10-day DL. He is expected to miss about a month, lining him up for a return in late-July. John Gant will take his spot in the rotation for the time being.
Wacha posted a 3.20 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 8-2 record with 71 strikeouts in 84 1/3 innings pitched this season.
