Cubs' Yu Darvish (triceps) throws 51-pitch simulated game
Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Yu Darvish (triceps) threw a 51-pitch simulated game on Wednesday afternoon at Wrigley Field.
According to Cubs beat writers who were at the session, Darvish put together a nice showing. The 31-year-old right-hander will likely need to make at least one minor league rehab appearance before rejoining the big league rotation. Darvish has been on the disabled list since May 23 due to tendinitis in his right triceps.
Darvish was averaging 27.4 FanDuel points per game during his first year with the Cubs while posting a 4.95 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 1-3 record in 40 innings pitched. He's also struck out 49 while walking 21 in his 8 starts.
