New York Yankees infielder/outfielder Tyler Austin was demoted to Triple-A on Thursday night.
To make room for Friday's starter Jonathan Loaisiga, the Yankees sent Austin to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Austin could make his return to the team sometime soon, but for now he'll get regular at-bats with the RailRiders.
In 132 big league plate appearances so far this season, Austin has a .223 batting average with eight home runs and 23 RBI.
