Athletics' Trevor Cahill (Achilles) in walking boot, return timeline unknown
Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Trevor Cahill (Achilles) is "in a walking boot" and "unsure how long his recovery will take," writes Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Cahill was scratched from his scheduled start last Saturday and put on the disabled list Thursday with a strained right Achilles tendon. Chris Bassitt has taken Cahill's spot in the Athletics' rotation for now.
Cahill was averaging 33.5 FanDuel points in eight starts this season with a 2.77 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 47 strikeouts, and 11 walks across 48 2/3 innings.
