Boston Red Sox catcher Sandy Leon is not starting versus the Seattle Mariners in Thursday's series opener.
Christian Vazquez will start behind the plate while Leon returns to the bench. He finished 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeout in Wednesday's series finale against the Baltimore Orioles.
