Mets' Noah Syndergaard confirmed to have a strained right index finger
It has been confirmed that New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard has a strained ligament in his right index finger.
Syndergaard was scratched from Sunday's start, and this confirmation comes after he went for a second-opinion on Tuesday. He tried playing catch last week but suffered discomfort in the finger, and he will likely miss a few more starts as he sits on the disabled list.
Syndergaard has been outstanding to open 2018, sporting a 2.92 SIERA, 28.3% strikeout rate, 4.8% walk rate and 1.18 WHIP through 11 starts.
