Angels' Shohei Ohtani (elbow) could return as a hitter, even if he's unable to pitch
Los Angeles Angels pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani could return as a hitter before he's cleared to pitch.
Ohtani is dealing with a sprained UCL. He'll be out at least three or four more weeks. Even then, the Angels will obviously still need to get the doctors' OK before inserting him back into the lineup.
Ohtani is hitting .289 with six home runs and owns a 4-1 record across nine starts this season.
