Pirates' Jung-Ho Kang to begin playing in minor league games

Per MLB.com's Adam Berry, Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman/shortstop Jung-Ho Kang will begin playing in minor leagues on Friday.

What It Means:

Kang is going to start playing at High-A Bradenton. He has spent the last four weeks at the Pirates' spring training facility down in Florida. After he works his way back into shape, he could return to the team around mid-June. That could result in fewer opportunities for David Freese, who has been serving as the complement to the left-handed hitting Colin Moran at third.

Our models have Kang down for 10 home runs, 31 RBI and a .258 average the rest of the season.
