Nationals' Max Scherzer strikes out 12, dominates Orioles
Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer stuck out 12 batters in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
Scherzer was absolutely dominant in his eight innings of work. He allowed just two hits and walked one while throwing 111 pitches, 83 of which went for strikes. The Orioles made contact on just 58% of pitches with a swinging strike rate of 26.1%, Scherzer's highest single-game mark of the year.
Scherzer finished Wednesday's game with 70 FanDuel points at $11,800. He is now 9-1 with a 1.92 ERA and 38.7% strikeout rate.
