Indians' Shane Bieber will make MLB debut on Thursday
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Shane Bieber will be called up from Triple-A Columbus to make his major league debut on Thursday against the Minnesota Twins, manager Terry Francona confirmed.
After posting a 1.10 ERA with 61 strikeouts and only 3 walks across 65 1/3 innings in the minors this season, Bieber will celebrate his 23rd birthday with the first big league start of his professional career. It remains to be seen if the right-hander will remain in the rotation or if he's only making a spot start while Trevor Bauer takes an extra day of rest.
Bieber went 5-1 across 10 starts while allowing a total of 8 earned runs.
