Adrian Gonzalez takes a seat on the Mets' bench in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader
New York Mets first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader with the Atlanta Braves.
Gonzalez gets the afternoon off while Jay Brice takes over first base duties. The veteran first baseman is available to pinch hit and could see action in the night game.
