Rays' Nathan Eovaldi to make season debut on Monday or Tuesday
Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (elbow) will make his 2018 debut on Monday or Tuesday against the Oakland Athletics.
Eovaldi gave up 8 runs on 10 hits over four innings in his rehab outing for Triple-A Durham on Wednesday but Rays manager Kevin Cash said the 28-year-old right-hander will rejoin the rotation at the beginning of next week. He hasn't pitched in the majors since August 2016 with the New York Yankees.
numberFire's models currently project Eovaldi to record a 4.99 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 62 strikeouts and 30 walks while picking up 5 wins across 83 innings this season.
