The Chicago White Sox have claimed catcher Dustin Garneau off waivers from the Oakland Athletics.
The A's designed Garneau for assignment on Monday, but he didn't spend too much time in limbo. As the White Sox dealing with the extended absence of Welington Castillo -- suspended 80 games for PED use -- they'll bring Garneau in to share starts with Omar Narvaez.
This season, Garneau has hit .208 with 2 home runs and 9 RBI at Triple-A Nashville.
