Report: Cubs could make Orioles' Manny Machado their top target at deadline
According to FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman, the Chicago Cubs could make Baltimore Orioles shortstop/third baseman Manny Machado their top trade deadline target.
Machado is set to become a highly coveted free agent after this season, and the Orioles are on the decline. Other teams are rumored to be interested in acquiring the three-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glover. Adding a player of his caliber would provide the underachieving Cubs with a big boost for the stretch and possibly for years to come.
Over 42 games, Machado is slashing .342/.422/.652 with 13 home runs, 38 RBI and 2 stolen bases. He's the 6th-ranked player in our current power rankings.
