Max Fried called up to make spot start for Braves in Thursday’s series finale
Atlanta Braves pitcher Max Fried was recalled from Triple-Gwinnett and start on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs.
Max Soroka was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a shoulder strain, so Fried will make his first big league start of 2018. He’s spun a 2.75 ERA with 21 strikeouts across 19 2/3 innings as a starter in the minors this season, compared to a 6.00 ERA over six innings of relief in the majors.
Fried is averaging 6.8 FanDuel points per game in the majors this season.
