Astros' Justin Verlander hurls complete game shutout
Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander pitched nine scoreless innings in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
Despite a tougher matchup, Verlander held to form and dominated, earning his fifth win of the year. He tallied seven strikeouts with just one walk and five hits allowed. It's the eighth complete game shutout of his career and the first since the 2015 season.
Projected for 36.4 FanDuel points, Verlander finished the game with 58 FD points at his $11,000 price tag. He's now averaging 50 FD points per game with a 32.8% strikeout rate and 1.05 ERA.
