Trevor Cahill (shoulder) activated, starting for Athletics on Wednesday

Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Trevor Cahill (shoulder) was activated from the 10-day disabled list and is starting on Wednesday night versus the Red Sox in Boston.

What It Means:

Cahill was sidelined with a right shoulder impingement but only needed the minimum 10 days to recover. The 30-year-old right-hander has been nothing short of excellent through four starts, evidenced by a 2.25 ERA and 0.96 WHIP, along with 31 strikeouts and 6 walks across 24 innings. The Athletics optioned Jake Smolinski to Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding roster move.

numberFire's models project Cahill to score 24.8 FanDuel points at a cost of $7,200 on Wednesday.
