The New York Mets have placed outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (hip) on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to Monday.
Cespedes has been hobbled for a while now, and will finally see a stint on the DL. He's dealing with a strained hip flexor, and will be eligible to return on May 24. Phillip Evans has been called up from Triple-A and is starting in left field on Wednesday.
Cespedes is hitting .255/.316/.474 with 8 home runs and 28 RBIs this season.
