Rays call up Christian Arroyo from Triple-A Durham
The Tampa Bay Rays promoted infielder Christian Arroyo from Triple-A Durham.
What It Means:
Matt Duffy is dealing with hamstring issues, so Arroyo was called up to provide some infield depth in a corresponding roster move with Carlos Gomez being placed on the disabled list with a groin injury. The 22-year-old was acquired from the San Francisco Giants last winter in the Evan Longoria trade.
Arroyo slashed .200/.235/.308 in 68 plate appearances this season for Durham.
