Giants showing strong interest in Matt Harvey

The San Francisco Giants reportedly have 'strong interest' in former New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey, per Andy Martino of SNY TV.

What It Means:

The Mets designated Harvey for assignment last week after the pitcher refused a minor league assignment. The Giants make sense as a landing spot as they are dealing with injury woes to their rotation, with Madison Bumgarner and Johnny Cueto out for a while. With plenty of suitors, the Mariners and Reds are rumored to have interest along with the Giants; the Mets will likely be able to trade Harvey instead of outright releasing him.

Harvey was horrific in 27 innings pitched this season, posting a 7.00 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, and an 0-2 record.
