Pirates send Nick Kingham back to Triple-A
The Pittsburgh Pirates optioned starting pitcher Nick Kingham to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Kingham spun a dominant shutout in his MLB debut on April 29 and then followed it up with another winning effort on the road Sunday versus the Milwaukee Brewers, but the Pirates are opting to send him back to Indianapolis in anticipation of José Osuna returning to the active roster for Tuesday's series opener with the Chicago White Sox. The 26-year-old right-hander should be able to earn another opportunity in the Pirates' rotation sometime soon.
Kingham averaged 44.5 FanDuel points in two starts while earning a 2.92 ERA and 0.65 WHIP with 16 strikeouts and 1 walk across 12 1/3 innings.
