Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Dwight Smith is not starting on Friday against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Smith went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the second half of Thursday's doubleheader against the Cleveland Indians but he provides little more than outfield depth for the Blue Jays. Curtis Granderson is starting in left field for tonight's series opener.
Smith went 10-for-29 (.370) in 12 games for Toronto last season during his first taste of the majors.
