The Oakland Athletics purchased the contract of starting pitcher Brett Anderson from Triple-A Nashville.
Anderson will join the Athletics' rotation and make his season debut on Wednesday night against the Seattle Mariners. The 30-year-old left-hander recorded a 1.90 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 25 strikeouts and 2 walks across 19 innings (four starts) in the minors. Oakland optioned Emilio Pagán to Nashville in a corresponding roster move.
