Nicky Delmonico (neck) scratched on Thursday, Trayce Thompson to start for White Sox
Chicago White Sox outfielder Nicky Delmonico (neck) is a late scratch for Thursday's game against the Kansas City Royals.
Delmonico is dealing with some neck stiffness, so he'll be replaced by Trayce Thompson in the outfield. Thompson will bat eighth against Royals right-hander Jakob Junis. Tim Anderson will jump up to the two-hole, while Yolmer Sanchez will now bat third.
Delmonico is hitting .246/.352/.311 with 4 runs, 1 home run, 4 RBIs, and 1 stolen base over 71 plate appearances.
