Angels say Shohei Ohtani's blister is now a callus
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani now has a callus where his blister was, manager Mike Scioscia said Wednesday.
Ohtani doesn't believe this will be a long-term issue. The 23-year-old two-way star is scheduled to face the Baltimore Orioles at home in his next trip to the mound.
As a pitcher, Ohtani is 2-1 with a 4.43 ERA and 1.13 WHIP while striking out 26 and walking 9 across 20 1/3 innings this season. As a hitter, he's slashing .333/.378/.619 with 3 dingers and 11 RBI through 45 plate appearances.
