Cubs' Addison Russell briefly hospitalized with an allergic reaction on Sunday
Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell was briefly hospitalized following Sunday's game in Denver with an allergic reaction.
Russell stayed in a Denver hospital for a few hours Sunday night after suffering an allergic reaction to something he ate from the postgame spread in the Cubs' clubhouse. He was released following observation and stayed behind as the rest of the team traveled to Cleveland. Russell re-joined the club on Monday and is considered day-to-day.
Russell has gotten off to a slow start this season, batting .219 with no home runs and a .276 wOBA in 74 plate appearances so far this season.
