Ervin Santana (finger) 'getting close' to mound work for Twins
Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Ervin Santana (finger) is "getting close" to throwing a bullpen session, manager Paul Molitor said Monday.
Santana will require multiple rehab starts as he continues to work his way back from February finger surgery, so it'll likely be at least a couple weeks before the 35-year-old right-hander makes his 2018 debut on the Twins' mound.
numberFire's models currently project Santana to record a 4.65 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with 94 strikeouts across 120 innings in 2018.
