Cardinals' Adam Wainwright (elbow) hits the disabled list on Sunday
St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright (elbow) landed on the 10-day disabled list over the weekend.
Wainwright is dealing with elbow inflammation, but he expressed optimism on Twitter that he should be better in a "few days." In the meantime, Cardinals prospect Jack Flaherty is expected to take his spot in the rotation this week.
This season, Wainwright has posted a 3.45 ERA and 1.53 WHIP with 12 strikeouts and 8 walks over 15 2/3 innings.
