Struggling Ian Happ working with Cubs' hitting coach on approach
Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon said outfielder Ian Happ has been working on his approach with hitting coach Chili Davis.
Happ didn't start Sunday nor is he in the lineup today, making it two of three games on the bench, and against right-handers at that. Since homering to kick off the 2018 season, Happ has struggled mightily to find his stroke. The hope is that he'll fix a few issues and return to the usual starting lineup, which would affect the playing time of Albert Almora.
Hitting .204, Happ has struck out 25 times in 53 plate appearances this season. He is 0-for-8 with 6 strikeouts in his last two games with Chicago.
