Marlins' J.T. Realmuto (back) could make season debut on Tuesday
Miami Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto (back) could be activated from the disabled list as early as Tuesday.
The Marlins will have the designated hitter spot available on Tuesday against the Yankees in New York, but in manager Don Mattingly said Realmuto will be behind the plate once he's activated. The 27-year-old backstop landed on the disabled list at the end of spring training after injuring his back in mid-March. Chad Wallach and Bryan Holaday have been splitting catching duties for Miami through the first two-plus weeks of the season.
numberFire's models currently project Realmuto to bat .270 in 426 plate appearances this season, with 12 home runs, 44 RBI, 49 runs scored, and 8 steals.
