X-rays on Cardinals' Jose Martinez (wrist) come back negative
Per Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, St. Louis Cardinals Jose Martinez had x-rays on his injured left wrist come back negative on Sunday.
The x-rays revealed no fracture and Martinez said it was "just another part of my body that hurts." Overall, it sounds like good news for Martinez, who could still miss a little time, if any, this week. He can be considered day-to-day as a result of Sunday's collision with the Reds' Tucker Barnhart. Matt Carpenter could see some time at first in his stead.
Martinez is off to a hot start, hitting .364 with 3 home runs and 15 RBI through 16 games. He ended Sunday's game with 9.2 FanDuel points in 4 plate appearances.
