Washington Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy (knee) could begin playing in games at extended spring training "in a week or so," manager Dave Martinez said.
Murphy missed essentially all of spring training after undergoing microfracture surgery on his right knee last October, but he's expected to be ready to join the Nationals by the end of the month. Howie Kendrick and Wilmer Difo have been handling things at second base for Washington.
numberFire's models project Murphy to bat .303 with 20 home runs, 77 RBI, 70 runs scored, and 3 steals in 512 plate appearances in 2018.
