Nats' Max Scherzer masterful in shutout of Braves on Monday
Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer struck out 10 while allowing just 2 hits in a complete game shutout of the Atlanta Braves on Monday.
Scherzer was at his best needing only 102 pitches to cruise through the Braves lineup. He threw just 30 itches out of the strike zone all night, allowing only 2 baserunners. Monday was his second double-digit strikeout performance (in 3 starts) this season.
Scherzer now has a minuscule 0.90 ERA, and 0.80 WHIP with 27 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched in 2018.
