Reds' Eugenio Suarez diagnosed with a fractured thumb
Cincinnati Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez has been diagnosed with a fractured right thumb.
What It Means:
Suarez was hit by a Jameson Taillon pitch Sunday that resulted in the injury. Suarez will be out for some time and it remains to be seen what the Reds will do to replace him at the hot corner. Cliff Pennington and Phil Gosselin could platoon third base, or there is a chance the Reds call up Triple-A prospect Nick Senzel to fill the void at third while Suarez is on the disabled list.
Suarez is averaging 15.2 FanDuel points per game this season.
