Brewers' Corey Knebel (hamstring) expected to be out at least six weeks
Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell said relief pitcher Corey Knebel (hamstring) will be out "a minimum of six weeks."
Knebel suffered a strained hamstring on Thursday while delivering a pitch, immediately falling to the ground in pain. He was unable to put any weight on his left leg afterwards, so it isn't surprising that he will be sidelined for a while. Counsell indicated that the Brewers will go with a closer-by-committee while Knebel is out. Jacob Barnes, Josh Hader, and Matt Albers are presumably the top candidates.
Knebel had a breakout year in 2017, posting a 1.78 ERA and 1.16 WHIP over 76 innings while compiling 126 strikeouts and 39 saves.
